The inaugural launch and cooperation signing ceremony for the Chenzhou low-altitude cultural and tourism route was held at Chenzhou Beihu Airport on March 31, 2025. It marked the maiden flight of Chenzhou's first low-altitude tourism route, which connects Beihu Airport with Mangshan National Forest Park.
The "Beihu Airport-Mangshan" route, operated by Bell 407 helicopters, is managed by Hunan Dawu General Aviation Co., Ltd. It starts from Beihu Airport, passes through Xiaobu Ancient Village, Yangtianhu Grassland, Yizhang County, and ends at Mangshan National Forest Park. The 90-kilometer-long route takes only 30 minutes to travel, which needs two and a half hours to drive routinely.
Chenzhou boasts inherent advantages of geographic location and airspace resources to develop low-altitude economy. Located at the junction of Hunan, Guangdong, and Jiangxi provinces, Chenzhou has a 1.5-hour aviation economic circle covering large cities such as Guangzhou and Changsha. Enjoying beautiful natural environment, good air quality, 68% of flyable airspace in the whole region, and more than 300 flyable days per year, Chenzhou has been endowed with preferable natural conditions to build itself into the "Low-altitude Corridor in Southern Hunan".
This year is the first year of low-altitude economic development in Chenzhou, and "low-altitude economy plus tourism" has become a new engine of economic growth in Chenzhou. The opening of the "Beihu Airport-Mangshan" low-altitude tourism route is an important milestone in the development of Chenzhou's tourism industry. It provides tourists with a brand new traveling experience, which will further enhance the popularity and attractiveness of Chenzhou's tourism and boost the high-quality development of Chenzhou's culture and tourism industry.
"This year, we will successively open low-altitude cultural tourism routes in Chenzhou to Dongjiang Lake, Gaoyiling, Feitian Mountain, and other destinations. We will try to realize a full coverage of low-altitude cultural tourism routes across the 11 counties, county-level cities, and districts of Chenzhou. This will empower Chenzhou to become China's first city dedicated to low-altitude cultural tourism," said Qiu Zhiyao, president of Hunan Dawu General Aviation Co., Ltd.
